The Triumph of the Lamb | Triumph and Tears
Revelation 5 | Pastor Winston Parrish
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been studying the triumphs and tears of our Lord, His death, burial, resurrection, and His ascension to Heaven. We’ve looked at the magnitude of the resurrection.
Many today believe in the rapture and second coming, but far too few live with urgency about it. Yet Jesus is coming. God’s promise assures it. Christ’s own words declare it.
1. The Crisis of Worthiness: Revelation 5:1
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2. The Credentials of Worthiness: Revelation 5:5
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
3. The Celebration of The Worthy One: Revelation 5:8
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
When the Lamb takes the scroll, all of Heaven falls. Worship erupts. Harps are played, Golden bowls overflow and the prayers of the saints rise like incense. Every plea for justice. Every cry for His coming. Every whisper of “Thy kingdom come.”
Church! Hold Fast! The Lamb Is Coming
What began with weeping ends with worship. What started in silence ends in a shout. And it all centers on Jesus Christ.
He is the Lion who conquered.
He is the Lamb who was slain.
He is the King who is coming.
