The Lording Lordship of Christ
Acts 2:22-36 | Pastor Winston Parrish
Jesus Christ is not merely a Lord of the past; He is the living, active Lord who reigns now and throughout eternity. His resurrection, exaltation, and authority reveal that no power can defeat Him and that every believer is called to recognize His rightful rule.
Because Christ purchased us with His precious blood, His lordship reaches into every part of our lives. Genuine faith does more than call Jesus “Lord”—it bows before His authority, trusts His wisdom, and obeys His commands.
1. The Grave Could Not Hold Him
Jesus truly died, but death could not keep Him because God raised Him from the grave. His resurrection assures us that His sacrifice was accepted, our sins can be forgiven, and our hope extends beyond death.
2. The World Cannot Dethrone Him
Jesus is exalted at the right hand of God, and no government, enemy, circumstance, or earthly power can remove Him from His throne. Even when life feels unstable, Christ remains sovereign and worthy of our complete trust.
3. Your Life Belongs to Him
Christ purchased the redeemed with His own blood, giving Him the rightful authority to rule every area of their lives. The Savior who paid the price for us lovingly claims our worship, trust, obedience, and devotion.
