Happy Easter! What a joy to meet today to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord!

As Bible believers, we remember and rejoice that Jesus gave His life for us. He came to earth to take our place and to become God’s Lamb.  He is the Passover Lamb for all eternity.

The past few weeks have been filled with prayer and planning for this day.  Easter Sunday, the day in our faith that we remember how much Jesus loves us.

John 3:16 states that, “…God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” We are reminded that God loves us with a love larger than we can understand!

Jesus loves us so much that He was willing to put on a robe of flesh and come to be our Savior.  Jesus lived and He loved us so much that He gave His life for us.

The Good News of Easter is that Jesus is Alive!

We are the only religion (faith) in the world where our founder is alive and well!

From the drama, Passover in Egypt, we understand the message of an innocent lamb giving its life.  Exodus 12 reminds us that the judgment was stopped by the blood of the lamb.

“…when I see the blood, I will pass over you.”

The message continued in Jerusalem, 2,000 years ago, as Jesus and His disciples shared the Passover meal.  The commandment from Christ to the church, “..This do in remembrance of Me.”

Today, we’re blessed to remember and celebrate.

Happy Easter!

Last Sunday our church was transformed into the Old Testament land of Egypt.   We saw God use the drama, Passover in Egypt, to illustrate His plan of redemption.  We are still rejoicing over those who trusted Jesus for salvation last weekend!

This past Sunday our church had moved into the New Testament.  We walked with Jesus through the Eastern Gate into the city of Jerusalem.

The crowd heard that Jesus was coming; they were blessed, happy, and excited, calling out, “…Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.”  John 12:13

Jesus will use the Passover meal before His crucifixion as a teaching time.  He will share powerful lessons from the Word of God, demonstrating grace and mercy by reaching out to Judas and sharing love and assurance with His disciples.  This will be the last Passover with Jesus until He returns in all His glory.

Let’s celebrate the joy of Jesus on this Palm Sunday!  May God bless you and your family as we study His Word together.

Thank you to all the workers and volunteers for making this Bible message come to life!

It is was a great joy to be in church  today!  Our entire property has been transformed to look like Egypt, 3,000 years ago.

From the animal displays and actors outside to the door of the Jewish home in Goshen, you are in Egypt.

Today, and for the next two weekends we will witness our Bible coming alive.  The accounts of God dealing with men and women of the Holy Scriptures will be portrayed in full costume and background of that day.

The Trinity Baptist Church family has invested in prayer, planning and preparation to make the reality of our spiritual heritage be understood.

In the midst of all this excitement and work, God blessed our service this past Wednesday night.  The scripture was Matthew 18 and the burden was for the children and teens of our church and city.  It was thrilling to see so many children and teens in church and to rejoice with those who were saved!

Thank you for being faithful!

In Luke, chapter eleven, we follow the request to Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray”.

This past Wednesday night we started our new Bible Study Series, Praying Against Evil! In verse four of that same chapter, Jesus instructs us to add to our prayers a petition that we be delivered from evil.

In Ephesians, chapter six, the scripture instructs us to be spiritually prepared to stand against the tricks and deceit of the devil. The devil has no rule book, the devil cheats and he doesn’t play fair. The devil is a roaring lion, seeking what marriage, what home, what teen or single he may destroy. He uses the full destructive force of sin!

In this same chapter we see why Jesus wanted us to “pray against evil”.

The Bible teaches that when you go to resist temptation and sin you cannot see your enemy! What you are fighting is not “flesh and blood”.

Our enemies that want to destroy us and our families are:

  1. Principalities
  2. Powers
  3. Rulers of Darkness
  4. Spiritual Wickedness

We must have help and the help we need is the Lord Jesus Christ! We must start with prayer. Please Jesus, teach me to pray against evil. We need the whole Armour of God.

When we read II Chronicles 28, we see the devastation caused by sin. King Ahaz had the position and power to lead his people towards the worship of God. Instead, King Ahaz led his people on a path of sensual sin and idolatry. Sin’s “payday” was horrible!  The Bible teaches us clearly that…the wages of sin is death.

Our generation faces many of the same spiritual struggles and battles with temptation. The only difference being, “we are first class sinners”. By that I mean that we have the power to sin in so many different ways and media.

From television, IPads, and the internet, we can access people, places and technology of sin.

In today’s world there are many ways and opportunities to move away from God’s Word and God’s Way. We must pray and ask God to help us guide our lives toward Him and not toward the world!

The Bible states that…King Ahaz, did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord…

But the good news and our example is one person doing what is right!

II Chronicles 29:2—And he (King Hezekiah) did that which was right in the sight of the Lord …

Let us keep praying for personal revival! Oh Lord, please help me to “Carry the trash” out of my life!
