In Matthew 25, Jesus teaches the principle of stewardship through the Parable of the Talents. Stewardship is much more than managing money; it is the recognition that everything we have belongs to God. We are not owners, but caretakers entrusted with what is His. Ownership says, “This is mine, my money, my children, my time, my career.” Stewardship, on the other hand, says, “God has entrusted these things to me for a time, and I will one day give an account for how I used them.”

True stewardship grows out of a heart transformed by God’s grace and mercy rather than a sense of fairness or entitlement. It calls believers to value the Giver above the gifts and to live with faithful responsibility in all things. The ultimate motivation is the hope of hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.”

1. It’s not about how much you have, but what you do with what you have.
God is not measuring our lives by comparison with others. God cares about faithfulness, not status or quantity. Little becomes much when surrendered to God.

2. Excuses keep you from reaching your full potential.
Fear and excuses often prevent believers from obeying God fully: God blesses obedience and faithful stewardship.

3. Faith grows when we understand the Master’s heart.
God is Holy, Righteous, Merciful, Gracious, but He is not fair. True fairness would mean condemnation because of sin. Instead, God offers grace through Jesus Christ.
