Fearless in the Face of the Fox
Luke 13:31-35 | Pastor Winston Parrish
As Jesus journeyed toward Jerusalem and the cross, the Pharisees delivered a threatening message from Herod: “Depart, for Herod will kill thee.” Yet instead of retreating, Jesus replied with courage and calm authority, “Go tell that fox…” In that single phrase, He stripped Herod of false power, revealing the emptiness of worldly rulers who oppose truth. Surrounded by hostility and danger, Jesus refused to flinch, continuing His mission with fearless obedience to God’s will.
We’re reminded that the same “spirit of the fox” still operates today—cunning, manipulative, and determined to silence the truth. But followers of Christ are called to stand firm, trusting that God’s plan cannot be stopped, His timing cannot be altered, and His victory is already secured. When the world threatens, when fear presses in, and when the future feels uncertain, we can look to Christ—the fearless Savior who walked through every threat with confidence in His Father’s sovereign plan.
1. The Fox Will Threaten — Don’t Flinch
The enemy still uses fear and intimidation to silence believers, but like Jesus, we must stand firm and refuse to be moved—our courage comes from faith, not fear.
2. The Father Has a Plan — Don’t Fold
No power on earth can alter God’s sovereign timeline; when pressure rises, believers must keep walking in obedience, knowing every step is ordered by the Lord.
3. The Future Is Certain — Don’t Fear
Though evil seems loud and truth feels small, Christ has already secured the victory—our hope rests in His unshakable promise that the story ends in glory, not defeat.
The world still echoes with the voice of the fox, but Christ has shown us how to stand fearless in the midst of it. The threats may rise, but the throne of Christ still stands, and His victory is already assured. Be fearless in the face of the fox!
