The Holy Name in the Holy City

A young King, a vile King a reign of wickedness and reversal on all the reforms that Hezakiah had made; for every step Hezakiah made for God towards God, Manasseh made three steps back! He had forgotten the God of his father, he had abandoned all truth, all light, all good and had even replaced it with the things of false gods! A terrible place, a horrific scene that unfolds here in Jerusalem. 

Can you put yourself now in the shoes of the faithful remnant that remained in Jerusalem. Those who refused to worship false Gods, those who refused to give in. The faithful that kept on beveling, kept on praying. Imagine what it was for them!

Ignoring The Warning

A story of a young man who had it all. A loving father, a family, a home, there were people there at his home, servants of the house, there was life, there was joy and yet we arrive to VS 15 and16, truly two of the saddest verses, one of the most unimaginable depictions of just how far sin and self will take you.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

Praying in Wartime

Prayer is in essence the method by which christians practice and keep fellowship with God. I submit to you that if you did not pray, you don’t have a relationship with God. Saved people, regenerate people talk to God. 

Living in the pressure cooker of warfare that we live in these days, I don’t see how you can go one day and not be forced into prayer, forced into a place where you realize that you can’t do it, you don’t have the strength, you don’t have the wisdom, the stamina. I must pray. I must ask, I must tell Jesus. 

If you signed that document on Sunday and did it in all sincerity, if you truly are willing to fight for holiness, for power with God, for authority and confidence with God in this world, then you must understand the power of prayer, the importance of prayer and just how desperate you should be to pray!
