In our “Hall of Faith” series, we’ve explored how faith shaped the lives of Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Sarah. Now we turn to Moses, whose story highlights the “Decision of Faith.” His choices, driven by trust in God, remind us that true faith often requires rejecting worldly comforts to follow God’s plan.
Moses’ life challenges us to see every decision as an opportunity to align with God’s will. Like the faithful before him, his actions show that genuine faith isn’t just belief—it’s choosing God’s way in every moment. To see this clearly, we must consider what Moses rejected. Genuine faith rejects four things:
1. Genuine Faith Rejects the World’s Prestige – Heb. 11:24
By faith, Moses rejected the prestige of Egypt, choosing God’s way over worldly power and privilege. His decision demonstrated that genuine faith prioritizes God’s kingdom above all else.
2. Genuine Faith Rejects the World’s Pleasure – Heb. 11:25
By faith, Moses rejected the fleeting pleasures of sin, choosing instead to endure suffering with God’s people. He understood that worldly pleasures are temporary, but God’s way is eternal.
3. Genuine Faith Rejects the World’s Plenty – Heb. 11:26
By faith, Moses valued the eternal riches of God over the treasures of Egypt, willingly choosing suffering. He rejected worldly abundance, serving God and His people for His glory.
4. Genuine Faith Rejects the World’s Pressure – Heb. 11:27
By faith, Moses rejected Egypt and its pressures, leaving without fear after encountering God. Trusting God’s promises, he chose the eternal over the temporary.
