Task Force Trinity Update – Oct. 22
Task Force Trinity Update
From the desk of Pastor Winston Parrish:
As we quickly approach 1 month since Hurricane Helene devastated much of Western North Carolina, our community and church family’s needs have shifted. As with every disaster, immediate, emergent needs are always a priority. We are astounded and truly thankful for the outpouring of love, support, and supplies that were dispatched to our church. Thousands upon thousands of Western North Carolinians were the beneficiaries of this support directly from God’s people. I’ll say it again, “The church is very much alive and well!”
As we recover and rebuild, much work is left to be done. Even this week, funerals are being held for the victims and lives are still being put back together. Our work is really only beginning. Trinity has made a commitment to be here, to help, and to support in any capacity in which we are able to function.
We continue to support the general population of Western North Carolina, as well as partnering with local school systems, to deliver hundreds of thousands of gallons of water and needed supplies to ensure schools can reopen.
By extension, we are also working to support local pastors and churches with specific needs in hard-to-reach communities in outlying counties. This includes an operation in East Tennessee.
If you have already given to our Task Force Trinity Relief Fund, thank you. Know that every cent is going to help WNC as it heals. If you would like to join the Task Force in helping Western North Carolina recover, please give here today: tbcavl.com/give
Here are the current and up-to-date operational notes:

- Anyone in need of prayer help or just someone to talk to as we heal together can also call the church office directly at 828-254-2187. We invite anyone in the community to join us for Sunday morning service at 10:30 AM; come as you are.
- Clean drinking water is still available on campus at our Rachel’s Well water station. A 50-gallon per vehicle per visit limit is still in effect. This service will remain open and available as long as potable water is still unavailable in Asheville. The water station is open 7 days a week, 8 AM-7 PM, at 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
- Any needs for Disaster Relief Assistance should be submitted via the online form (tbcasheville.org/request). Someone will follow up within 24 hours.
- Shower and laundry services have concluded as non-potable water is back in the lines. Please refer to the City of Asheville water resources page for more information about water.
